It's Girl Scout Cookie Time and There's an App for That!

It the 100th anniversary of the Girls Scouts. To celebrate, they have a new cookie, the Savannah Smiles. The girls selling Girl Scout Cookies used to go door to door to sell these delectable treats. Then it seemed like everywhere you looked there were Girl Scouts outside of supermarkets selling cookies. Now there an app to help you locate those delicious cookies. The free app is available as both an Android App and an iPhone App making it easy to:

?Search for sales in your neighborhood ? ?Get details on your favorite Girl Scout Cookies and discover recipes to make with them ? ?Have fun and find your Cookie Personality ?Check in with Foursquare ?See videos

Last year the Girls Scouts started taking payments via a mobile phone attachment. This service from Sage Mobile Payments and Intuit GoPayment allowed you to conduct sales transactions at your door or local store. The good news is that this was successful enough that the Girl Scouts are using these services again this year. And with the Android App and iPhone App to locate cookies on sale, there is no excuse not to buy those tempting cookies.

Do you have a secret obsession with Girl Scout Cookies? What your favorite Girl Scout Cookie? Are you partial to the Thin Mints or do the Samoas have your vote? I used to love to freeze the Thin Mints and just bring them out one at a time from the freezer for a chilly nibble. Of course I love the Samoas as well, but those Thin Mints take me back to my childhood when I was one of those little Brownies selling cookies door to door.

With all the apps available for your phone, you may find your cell phone battery runs down rather quickly. You can turn off all the unnecessary apps, or perhaps it time for a spare battery or an extended battery. I have a Droid X Extended Battery and love it. It really makes all the difference when it comes to enjoying my Smartphone. Motorola blew it with the new Droid RAZR, which incidentally has a built in battery much like the iPhone and therefore can be upgraded with an extended battery. The new Motorola Droid RAZR Max is coming with a 3300mAh hour battery built into it. This is almost twice the battery capacity of the Droid RAZR which had a 1780mAh battery. Since most of the Smartphones out there allow you to replace the battery, you can always get an extended battery and solve the problem yourself.
